Galit Ariel, the visionary TechnoFuturist, author, and creative force, illuminates the uncharted territories of emerging technologies and their profound impact on our culture, behaviours, and interactions. Her groundbreaking book, 'Augmenting Alice - The Future of Identity, Experience, and Reality,' unveils the transformative potential of Augmented Reality, reshaping core paradigms related to culture, body, space, and agency.

Currently based in Toronto, Galit leads the charge in art/tech impact projects through her agency, Future Memory Inc. In her experimental media art practice, she seamlessly navigates digital, physical, and mental spaces, exploring resemblances, gaps, and glitches to prompt people to experience familiar worlds in refreshing ways.

With a stellar academic background, Galit holds a BA in Product Design from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design (London) and an MA in Design Management & Innovation from Savannah College of Art & Design (US). Presently, she is immersed in her research-creation PhD at York University (Toronto), delving into the fluid intersection of embodied technologies, culture, and imagination.

Galit's influential work extends beyond academia, with roles as a graduate research fellow at York’s Sensorium Centre for Digital Arts and Technology and a stream leader at the Feminist Digital Methods Research Cluster. She is also the co-founder of Humans of STEAM, a non-profit uniting companies, policymakers, and communities to co-create better tech futures.

Her impactful projects span location-based AR art, subversive animation, alternative interactions, and art curation, earning recognition as a fellow for the Amsterdam ‘Designing Cities for All of Us’ programme and a HASTAC fellow. She contributes to think tanks like THE150, which produced the Copenhagen Catalog–150 principles for a new direction in tech.

As a sought-after international keynote speaker, Galit has graced renowned conferences, agencies, and institutions worldwide, including TED, Bell Labs, SXSW, The European Union, The NextWeb, Slush, R/GA, Microsoft, FifteenSeconds, FITC, PauseFest, and Women in Tech Global Summit. Unity identified her as one of 'Nine Women Building the Metaverse' in 2022, and Forbes recognised her as one of 40 influential futurists in the same year. Galit's contributions extend to various online and printed publications focusing on contemporary culture at the intersection of art, tech, and society.
