“I think it’s very important thing to embrace the ridiculousness, not be afraid of it. Some of the best ideas originate from crazy ideas.” - Dominic Wilcox

Who better to guide us through the ‘new normal’ that British inventor, designer and ‘thinkerupper’ who turns the everyday, ultra-normal into something extraordinary.  He shines a spotlight on the things we take for granted turning the mundane and ordinary into something surprising, wondrous and strangely thought provoking.

Like a modern day Heath Robinson, he’s best known for his playful contraptions underscored with a signature dry wit. He’s created a window of ‘imagined possibilities’ for Selfridge’s, a pair of giant “Binaudios” that enables the user to ‘listen’ to the sounds of the city in Northern England’s Gateshead; an imaginary car for MINI and dezeen.com and hacked GPS shoes that guide you home.

He’s the go-to for brands who want to push the imagination of a product from Kellogg’s cereals to Microsoft Surface. He is author of Variations on Normal full of absurd yet brilliant invention drawings.

His critically acclaimed documentary, “The Reinvention of Normal” won numerous awards including Winner Best Documentary Berlin Short Film Festival (international film); Winner Best Documentary Sunderland Short Film Festival; Leeds International Film Festival Audience Award and Vimeo Staff Picks Runner Up Best Documentary 2015.

His talks are quirky and funny and always unpredictable, guaranteed to help you perceive your own everyday as extraordinary. He brings out the big kid in everyone from CCO’s to The Late Show.
